I bought two things in August 2026.
The Panasonic LAMDASH PALM IN and an iPod Classic.
I had wanted both for a while, and finally bought them in August.
Here’s what I bought and what I let go this month.
Bought: Panasonic LAMDASH PALM IN

What Is the LAMDASH PALM IN?
The LAMDASH PALM IN is a compact five-blade electric shaver from Panasonic.
As the name suggests, it’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and doesn’t have the traditional handle you’d find on a typical electric shaver.
It’s small, but it still gives you a proper shave.
Its biggest strength is that it combines portability with the performance of a full-size electric shaver.
Why I Bought It
I had been interested in the LAMDASH PALM IN for a while.
What finally pushed me to buy it was starting a new job.
I normally shave at night with a MÜHLE R89.
However, my beard grows relatively quickly, so by the afternoon, I sometimes start to notice some stubble.
With my new job, I’ll have more opportunities to meet people and attend meetings.
So I bought the LAMDASH PALM IN to tidy up my stubble during the day.
I could do the same thing with the Braun electric shaver I used before.
But it’s a little too big to carry in my bag every day.
The LAMDASH PALM IN is small enough that I barely notice it’s there.
What I Think So Far
What surprised me most is how well it shaves despite its size.
I compared it with the Braun electric shaver I used before, and I found the results to be almost the same.
Of course, it doesn’t shave quite as close as when I take my time with the MÜHLE R89.
But for touching up the stubble that grows during the afternoon, it’s more than enough.
Most importantly, it’s so small that it’s easy to carry with me every day.
I think it will become even more useful once I start my new job.

What Is the iPod Classic?
The iPod Classic is a portable music player that Apple used to make.
The one I bought is a fifth-generation model.
Today, we can easily listen to almost any music we want with just a smartphone.
Even so, in 2026, I decided to buy an iPod that’s around 20 years old.
Why I Bought It
I wanted a way to listen to music without using my smartphone.
During a break from work or studying, I would pick up my phone just to listen to some music.
Then I’d check a notification, open Instagram, or start watching something on YouTube.
I only wanted to listen to music, but before I knew it, I was doing something completely different.
This happened to me a lot.
So I decided to try using an iPod Classic—a device designed primarily for listening to music.
What I Think So Far
I like it even more than I expected.
Choose a song and press play.
That’s basically it.
There are no notifications and no recommended videos popping up on the screen.
Compared with modern devices, it’s inconvenient.
But that inconvenience is exactly what I like about it.
When I listen to music between work or study sessions, I spend less time reaching for my smartphone.
It may be around 20 years old, but surprisingly, it fits very well into my life today.

What I Let Go
I didn’t let go of anything this month.
Ideally, when I buy something new, letting go of something else helps keep my storage space from getting crowded.
But neither of the things I bought this month was a replacement for something I already owned.
They were both additions to my life.
So this time, I didn’t let go of anything.
That said, if I keep making choices like this, my possessions will naturally keep growing.
I’m happy to add things that are useful, but I also want to be careful not to let them accumulate unnecessarily.
