UNIQLO Washable Knitted Polo Sweater review:  Honest Thoughts from a Former Employee

Honest Thoughts from a Former UNIQLO Employee

This article is about the UNIQLO Washable Knitted Polo Sweater.

It’s a very well-made item, and I personally like it a lot—I currently own it in four colors.

I’ll share both the good points and the areas for improvement as honestly as possible.

Background

A bit of context before the review.

I worked at UNIQLO for about three and a half years.
During that time, I saw a wide range of products, and this polo sweater felt like one of those items that don’t stand out at first, but are actually very well made.

It was not a top-selling item in the rankings, but it sold steadily over time.

It’s not flashy, but once you wear it, you understand why it’s good.

About the Washable Knitted Polo Sweater

The Washable Knitted Polo Sweater is a knit polo that you can simply wash at home.
It’s made from a cotton-rayon blend, giving it a clean and slightly refined look, while still feeling casual enough for everyday wear.

What’s good

Premium-looking fabric

The fabric has a nice thickness and doesn’t feel thin or cheap.
It’s tightly knitted, which gives it a clean and refined look.

Because of that, it works well not only for casual wear but also in more formal situations.

The fit has a relaxed feel, but still looks modern and well-balanced.

The sleeves are long enough to cover the elbows, which also helps with body shape.
The collar stands nicely and keeps a clean shape, which adds to the overall quality.

Easy maintenance

One of the best points is that you can wash it in a washing machine.

Most knitwear looks nice but is hard to take care of, and often requires hand washing.

But with this item, you can just throw it in the washing machine after wearing it.

It’s better to use a laundry net to avoid damage.

What could be improved

No major downsides

Considering the price, the overall quality is very high.

There are some small differences compared to high-end knitwear, like the buttons not being shell buttons, but that’s understandable at this price.

If I had to say one thing: durability

Over time, especially with darker colors, you may notice slight fading.

However, after around 30 wears, the level of fading is still acceptable.

So this is more of a minor point.

Conclusion

Overall, this is a very well-balanced item for the price.

What makes this piece stand out is the balance between ease of care and a clean appearance.

You can wash it easily, and still keep a polished look.
This kind of practicality is very valuable for everyday wear.

There is some fading over time, but overall, it’s still durable enough for long-term use.

In daily life, it’s the kind of item you end up reaching for often.

It’s not flashy, but if you’re looking for something simple that you can wear for a long time, this is a great option.
